Compatibility of Family and Career
With the promotion of equality and the compatibility of family and
career, the BfR is pursuing the goal of bonding employees more
strongly to the institute and gaining a higher profile in the competi-
tion for qualified personnel. The measures taken to promote com-
patibility in recent years include extensive expansion of flexible
working hours, the set-up of guest offices and parent-child rooms,
the introduction of alternating telework and the promotion of par-
ticipation in further training courses for employees absent for family
reasons. The BfR was certified in accordance with the berufund-
familie audit in 2009 and the certificate was renewed in 2012 in a re-
audit. Executive employees in particular are to be further sensitised
to compatibility issues over the next three years, and awareness of
family-friendly offers at the BfR is to be heightened both internally
and externally.
