Statement on Accessibility
The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) strives to produce its websites and mobile applications in accordance with the German Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz - BGG) and the regulation for the creation of barrier-free information technology according to the Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act (Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung - BITV 2.0).
This Accessibility Declaration (status: 4 June 2024) applies to the version of this website currently available on the internet (www.bfr.bund.de) and relates to the test result of the BIK according to the BITV test procedure of 10 March 2014. In this test, the website achieved 90.25 out of a maximum of 100 points and was thus rated as easily accessible.
Status of compatibility with requirements
Due to the following exceptions, this website is only partially compatible with the BGG and the BITV:
PDF downloads that were posted before September 2018 do not fall within the scope of the applicable legal provisions and are not accessible. For all PDF documents posted after that date, the BfR creates a barrier-free version or endeavours to replace them with one as soon as possible. The BfR website may also include PDF documents which are also available as HTML pages. In this case, the HTML pages may be considered the accessible alternative to the PDF documents, meaning that the PDF documents do not necessarily have to be accessibly designed. The European Standard (EN 301 549 V 3.2.1) which applies to information and communication technologies (ICT) draws from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), which stipulate that information may also be accessed via an alternate means of conformance.
Video and audio files posted before September 2020 do not fall within the scope of the applicable legislation. In general, they were published without subtitles, text alternatives, or audio descriptions.
