A journey through time - the history of the BfR

The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) was founded in November 2002 and has been working in the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) ever since. Let us take a look back at the last 20 years. The BfR is part of a long history of consumer health protection in Germany, which began as early as 1876 with the founding of the Imperial Health Office.
